Happy Tram is a concept for the future Regensburg tram, which I was working on in the 5th semester of my industrial design studies. The aim of my design is that, despite the distance and loneliness that one often encounters as a passenger on public transport, the new tram should welcome the people of Regensburg with friendliness and familiarity.

I came up with my idea of ​​a nice tram through constant news of accidents involving pedestrians and drivers, which I came across frequently during my research phase. This led to the first idea of ​​a train that could passively draw the attention of other road users, for example through lights or a special front. For the latter, I ultimately developed a kind of face that should drive through the streets of Regensburg with a positive charisma. That's why the front of the train is decorated with a smile and, for greater safety, its large arc attracts the attention of unwary road users. The outer facade of the tram is designed in a blue-grey and additionally decorated with a wave-shaped design, inspired by the beautiful Danube that flows through our Regensburg.
